Just Food works closely with our shoppers to ensure we are meeting the needs of our community. In order to reduce barriers, specifically transportation barriers, shoppers are able to utilize their weekly Just Food visit at one of our Cruising Cupboard stops as well as The Care Cupboard located at Heartland Community Health Center. Both cupboards supply the same products as our main pantry location.
The Cruising Cupboard

The Cruising Cupboard is Just Food’s mobile food pantry, providing access to healthy food throughout Douglas County. Any Just Food shopper is eligible to access The Cruising Cupboard.
The Cruising Cupboard has weekly stops in Lawrence, Baldwin, and Eudora. Just meet the bus at it's stop, and you can access the bus with the same number of points as you would have at the main pantry. A visit to the Cruising Cupboard counts as your weekly visit, so you may get food at one or the other. Make sure to follow Just Food on Facebook to stay in touch. Click here to check out the schedule!
The Care Cupboard
Hunger and health converge at The Care Cupboard at Heartland Community Health Center. The Care Cupboard is located on the North side of the building at 1312 W 6th St, Lawrence, KS 66044 and is open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Just Food shoppers are able to shop here for their weekly pantry visit.

This was a pretty chill read—nothing felt padded out, and I didn’t have to keep jumping back to figure out what the point was. The way it slips in quick, everyday examples helped a lot, especially when it explained the reasoning instead of just tossing out tips. I ended up clicking around newimage.io in the middle of it because it gave me the same “useful but not overwhelming” vibe when you want to go a bit deeper. What I liked most is it didn’t sound like copy-paste advice; it felt like someone actually tried this stuff and then wrote it down. Also, the page was easy on the eyes with clear headings and short blocks of text that made skimming…
I really like how Just Food is focusing on reducing transportation barriers and making healthy food more accessible through the Cruising Cupboard and community partnerships. Mobile food pantries can make a huge difference for families who may struggle to travel regularly. Community support systems like this show how practical solutions can improve everyday life. It reminds me of Slope Rider, where small adjustments and accessibility improvements can completely change the overall experience.
