GIVE SUPPORT

Just Food relies on community support to do what we do. Our pantry is stocked by individual donors, food recovery from local grocery stores, and purchases made from donations by our community supporters. Our daily operations are supported by hard-working volunteers and our doors would not be able to stay open without them. We rely on all of this community support to provide for the 20,000 Douglas County residents who are facing hunger every day.

Because of our network of food banks, we are able to leverage every donated dollar to provide the equivalent of five meals for local families in need. Much of our inventory for our food pantry is purchased with funds provided by charitable giving. It is because of our amazing community that we are able to do the work that we do, feeding thousands of families in need each year with your help.

 

Just Food is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and every donation is tax deductible to the extent of the law.

Does your store, farm or restaurant have food waste? Sign up today to become a food recovery partner to ensure no food goes wasted in Douglas County. We will pick the food up from you in our refrigerated truck!

FOOD & COOKING TOOLS

Whether you are cleaning out your cupboard or you grew more in your garden than you can use, we accept food and kitchen tool donations year round. We accept these donations during business hours Monday through Friday in the loading area at the back of our main building. Your food donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.

HOST A DRIVE

Food drives and fund drives raise awareness of hunger in the community, collect food for people in need and play an essential role in the fight against hunger. All of the food you donate stays and supports families in Douglas County!

With each of our events, we find many different ways to not only raise money to serve our mission, but also to incorporate our values and the values of our community. Each year Just Food rescues thousands of pounds of food from grocery stores and restaurants in our community, to redistribute to families in need. Through our food recovery program, we are able to keep this food in the food system and reduce the amount of food waste in our community.
