Just Food Garden Club FAQ's
What is the Just Food Garden Club?
-
A place to gather with our community and learn about growing food while also providing the Just Food pantry with locally grown, herbicide and pesticide free produce.
What do you do at the Just Food Garden Club?
-
Just what you would expect, we will plant, water, weed, feed, prune, harvest, hunt pests, build trellis, train wild vines, get our hands dirty and have a good time. There will always be plenty of time to just chat about gardening, swap techniques, ask questions, start a seed trial or share a good story. Looking for more? Contact the Garden Coordinator at grow@justfoodks.org to make your suggestions!
Do I have to come every time and stay the whole time?
-
Not at all, come when you can and stay for however long you like. No pressure! We currently have 2 meeting times available to try to accommodate as many schedules as possible. If those times don’t work for you but you are still interested in participating please contact the Garden Coordinator at grow@justfoodks.org.
What are the benefits of the Just Food Garden Club?
-
So many! Not only will you get first dibs on every harvest but you will also be learning about growing food, getting some sunshine and exercise, making friends, and giving back to your community.
Do I need to have gardening experience?
-
Nope, we welcome all skill levels from beginners to seasoned professionals. The garden coordinator will always be on hand to help with any task or answer any questions.
Can I bring my kids?
-
Absolutely! Kids are 100% welcome. We can find them a kid friendly task or they are welcome to just explore and play. (also coming soon to the Just Food Community Garden; a children’s sensory garden!)
Will you provide everything I need?
-
Please bring a water bottle, but we will provide all the necessary tools and materials. We also have a selection of garden gloves available to borrow, but feel free to bring your own.
